When you choose to trace your own path, your gear can no longer be a constraint.
It has to become a system.
An enabler.
An extension of movement.
Ultra running is evolving. It no longer always ends at a finish line. It becomes a journey, a traverse, self-sufficiency. Going out for longer. Linking two points. Sleeping outside. Setting off again in the morning. Running when the terrain allows, walking when the mountain demands it.
To support this new movement, we designed a brand-new travel companion: the RUNNING BAG 555.
A 24L trail running pack, designed to carry your bivouac essentials without sacrificing stability, access to your gear or freedom of movement.
Run free. Sleep anywhere.

ULTRA FASTPACKING STARTS HERE
The RUNNING BAG 555 was born from a very specific use: ultra fastpacking.
A space between long-distance trail running, fast hiking and self-supported adventure. A practice where the goal is not only to go fast, but to go far. With your own gear. At your own pace. With the option to stop, sleep and set off again.
Whether you are chasing a personal route, an alpine traverse, a long recce, a demanding GR trail or a bivouac project, the Running Bag 555 lets you carry your bivouac essentials without switching to a traditional hiking backpack.
The goal: carry more than a traditional trail vest while keeping a running mindset.
An invitation to go further, for longer.
24L FOR ULTRA FASTPACKING
The 24L capacity of the Running Bag 555 was designed as a balance.
Generous enough to carry the gear needed for several self-supported days.
Compact enough to stay compatible with an active practice.
Structured enough to avoid unnecessary overload.
Lightweight tent, compressible sleeping bag, compact sleeping pad, waterproof jacket, hydration, nutrition, headlamp, power bank, survival blanket, safety kit, compact stove: every item must find its place.
But volume alone is not enough.
A fastpacking bag should not only hold your gear. It must organise it. Stabilise it. Keep it accessible. Let you move.
That is the whole idea behind the Running Bag 555: turning 24L of capacity into a carrying system built for movement.

STABILITY DESIGNED FOR RUNNING
Carrying 24L on a hike is one thing.
Carrying 24L while running, descending, accelerating or moving over technical terrain is another.
The real challenge is not only capacity.
The real challenge is stability.
A pack that sits too high, is too soft or poorly balanced wastes energy. It pulls on the shoulders, changes your posture, creates friction points and ends up becoming a burden.
The Running Bag 555 was designed to limit these parasitic movements. Its construction keeps the load close to the body, spreads the volume and holds the pack in place, even when it is fully loaded.
The idea is simple: run where others would have to walk.
Not because the pack disappears.
But because it works with your body, not against it.

HOW TO ORGANISE THE 24L
Every zone of the Running Bag 555 was designed to organise your self-sufficiency gear without losing stability.
The tent goes in without its stuff sack so that it fills the main compartment and gives the pack its structure. This spreads the load better, avoids unnecessary rigid volumes and creates a stable base for the rest of your gear.
The sleeping pad is folded in four and slides into its dedicated pocket. The compressed sleeping bag takes its place in its compartment. The survival blanket, the Jetboil or small essentials then go into the dedicated pockets.
Nothing is placed at random.
Bulky gear gives structure.
Compact gear is spread out.
The essentials stay within reach.
This organisation limits bounce, stabilises the load and keeps the pack compact, even when loaded for several days.
WHAT GEAR TO USE WITH THE RUNNING BAG 555?
The Running Bag 555 suits a light fastpacking approach and ultra-distance trail running.
To make the most of its 24L, we recommend compact, compressible gear designed for minimalist bivouacs. For example: a lightweight tent such as the MSR FreeLite, Samaya Instant 2 or equivalent. The idea is not to impose a specific model, but to point you towards gear that matches the way the pack is meant to be used.
A complete setup can include:
- a lightweight tent or compact shelter;
- a compressible sleeping bag;
- a light foldable sleeping pad;
- a waterproof jacket;
- a warm layer;
- a headlamp;
- a power bank;
- water;
- nutrition;
- a survival blanket;
- a safety kit;
- a compact stove such as a Jetboil or equivalent.
Your choices will always depend on the weather, the terrain, the duration and your level of experience.
But the rule stays the same: every item must be useful, compact and easy to organise.

HOW TO PACK THE RUNNING BAG 555
Good packing changes everything. Start by structuring the main compartment with the tent, without its stuff sack. This spreads the load better and uses the available volume more efficiently.
Then place the compact items in the dedicated pockets: folded sleeping pad, compressed sleeping bag, survival blanket, compact stove or essential accessories.
Keep what you need on the move within reach: hydration, nutrition, phone, light jacket, headlamp or safety gear.
The goal is a stable load, with no hard spots, no loose volume and no need to empty the whole pack at every stop.
On a multi-day trip, organisation is not a detail.
It is what keeps you clear-headed, efficient and mobile.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
The Running Bag 555 is made for outings where a classic trail vest is no longer enough, but where a traditional hiking backpack becomes too heavy, too unstable or too far from a running mindset.
It is designed for:
- trail fastpacking;
- self-supported ultra distance;
- committed fast hiking;
- long traverses;
- bivouac adventures;
- multi-day recces;
- mountain projects;
- races with an extensive mandatory kit;
- outings where you need to carry more than a simple refuelling kit.
It is a pack for breaking the mould.
Less assistance.
More autonomy.
Fewer imposed lines.
More freedom.
RUNNING BAG 555 VS A CLASSIC TRAIL VEST
A classic trail vest is perfect for training, short to long races, or outings with little gear.
But as soon as the adventure calls for a tent, a sleeping pad, a sleeping bag or a stove, the volume is no longer enough. And adding gear to a vest that was not designed for it quickly creates instability.
The Running Bag 555 meets a different need. It keeps the essential codes of trail running: worn close to the body, quick access, stability, freedom of movement. But it adds the volume and organisation that self-sufficiency requires.
It is not a bigger vest.
It is a system designed for a different use.
Ultra fastpacking.
A NEW WAY TO HEAD OUT
The Running Bag 555 supports an evolution of the sport.
A practice where the goal is not only to perform in a race, but to build your own route. Where you can leave early, sleep outside and set off again at dawn. Where you accept carrying more to go further, without giving up on movement.
It is a different idea of ultra.
Less dependent.
Freer.
More personal.
The Running Bag 555 was designed for this zone: between trail, mountain and self-sufficiency.
SELF-SUFFICIENCY, WITHOUT SACRIFICING YOUR STRIDE
Heading out self-supported always involves trade-offs.
More gear means more weight.
More volume means more constraints.
More distance means more exposure.
The role of the Running Bag 555 is to reduce those trade-offs. To offer enough capacity to head out for several days, while keeping a stability that works for running and fast hiking.
It does not turn a multi-day trip into a light outing.
It makes the journey more fluid.
That is its real promise: letting you carry the essentials, without the load dictating your pace.
