This patented technology allows you to store and retrieve the flask instantly from the outer side of the pocket, even when the front pockets are wet or full. The flask neck naturally locks at the upper opening of the pocket to ensure maximum support.
The bi stretch fabric, with up to 65 percent maximum stretch, combined with a tensioned silicone elastic, provides the perfect balance between stability and accessibility.
This patented technology, based on an angled flask pocket, reduces the sensation of bouncing by a factor of four. By tilting the pocket at a 17 degree angle, the contact surface between the pocket and the flask is increased, with both the bottom and the side supporting the flask.
As a result, the stress, defined as force divided by the contact area, exerted by the weight of the flasks on the pockets and the pack structure is reduced by a factor of three. Finite element modeling shows that the movement of the flask during impact, and therefore the sensation of bouncing, is reduced by a factor of four.
Inspired by the pockets of our shorts, this one allows you to carry a 500 ml flask at the back of the pack while eliminating any bouncing. Its naturally tensioned bi stretch fabric, combined with a high rigidity silicone elastic at the top, firmly secures the flask against the back and prevents movement during running.
The woven structure, with strong elastic rigidity, an apparent elastic modulus of 0.073 N per percent, and up to 65 percent maximum stretch, offers the perfect balance between support and accessibility.
The structure of this pack provides an anatomical fit that adapts perfectly to the runner’s body while ensuring outstanding stability at high speed, even when fully loaded.
To achieve this, we developed an innovative and exclusive fabric with our partner Taiana, designed to be fully rigid vertically while offering extreme horizontal elasticity. This structure creates a stable framework on which the pockets are built, reducing the inertial effects of movement during running, while allowing maximum chest expansion without restriction thanks to its horizontal flexibility.
This elastic cord placed at the top of the flask pocket provides additional support to the flask neck, even when empty.

Our self locking zip ensures optimal and even tightening of the pack while maximizing the volume of the front pockets. The self locking system allows for precise partial opening, especially during climbs when less compression is needed and ventilation becomes more important.
It is complemented by a clip that enables full opening of the zip, providing added comfort during long ascents while keeping the pack securely in place, and allowing you to pick up the pace again with confidence when the gradient eases.
This large pocket maximizes front storage capacity, making all your nutrition and running essentials easily accessible without bouncing, even in situations of fatigue or reduced awareness.
Thanks to its fabric, it offers exceptional stretch capacity, with up to 80 percent maximum elongation, allowing it to nearly double in volume while enabling easy visual access to its contents. Its strong elastic rigidity, with an apparent elastic modulus of 0.125 N per percent, also helps keep stored items firmly in place.
This 50 ml pocket allows you to securely store your keys or earphones while eliminating any bouncing. Its reverse cross closure combined with a bi stretch fabric ensures intuitive access to the contents.
The high elasticity of the pocket, with up to 80 percent maximum stretch, allows it to perfectly adapt to the shape of the items, while its elastic rigidity, with an apparent elastic modulus of 0.125 N per percent, provides support and stability.
This safety whistle complies with the mandatory equipment requirements of the world’s leading ultra trail races.
- Outstretch™
- Dual Reach Tunnel™
- QuiverNest™ (bag)
The Outstretch™ technology used in our pack firmly secures the items stored in the pockets, whether empty or full, eliminating any bouncing. It also ensures that the pack expands outward as it is filled, maintaining optimal comfort regardless of the load.
Thanks to a combination of materials with carefully calibrated stretch and elastic modulus, along with the integration of gussets, Outstretch™ allows the pockets to adapt to the shape of their contents while minimizing the inertial effects of running.
Thanks to its grab guide accessible from the front of the pack, this tunnel pocket is ideal for storing your waterproof jacket while keeping it within easy reach. Its large gusset combined with a tensioned elastic finish allows you to securely store up to two jackets.
Strategically placed attachment points at the runner’s shoulder ensure secure fixation of the quiver, while the central loop accommodates the quiver’s tightening system. Whether positioned vertically or at an angle, the quiver remains at the right height and the pole tightening system stays easily accessible.

Located in the scapular mobility zone, this back pocket is designed to stop at mid back, ensuring easy access to its contents while running. It easily accommodates essential accessories such as a headlamp, cap, neck gaiter, sunglasses, extra nutrition, or a jacket. Its tensioned binding combined with a gusset allows it to adapt to the size of stored items while keeping them secure.
This is the only pocket that cannot be accessed while running, and is therefore intended for storing safety items rather than essentials needed during activity, such as a spare set of clothing.
Thanks to its reverse cross opening and elastic fabric, this small secure pocket is ideal for safely storing keys or a credit card. The high elasticity of the material allows the pocket to adapt to the shape of the items, while its strong elastic recovery keeps the contents firmly pressed against the pack structure to reduce movement.

FAQs - Running Bag 331
Choosing your Wise trail bag depends on the distance, the level of autonomy required, and the type of terrain you will be facing.
- Running Bag 331 (6L): Ideal for fast trails and minimalist ultras. Ultra-light, breathable, and bounce-free, it allows you to carry essentials while maintaining maximum freedom of movement. Its angled flasks facilitate hydration during the race.
- Running Bag 333 (12L): The most versatile trail bag. Perfect for technical ultras requiring mandatory gear, it offers quick access to your equipment without removing the bag. Stability, lightness, and practicality make it a reliable ally over long distances.
Maintaining a trail running pack is essential to preserve its performance, breathability, and durability, especially after long runs or ultras.
To properly wash a trail running pack or vest, two options are possible:
Machine wash
- Use a delicate or synthetic cycle at 30°C
- Choose a low spin cycle (few revolutions/minute)
- Opt for a liquid detergent without aggressive agents
- Absolutely avoid fabric softener, which damages technical fibers
Hand wash (ideal for prolonging lifespan)
- Use lukewarm water with a mild soap
- Gently clean perspiration areas (back, shoulder straps)
- Rinse thoroughly without wringing the pack
- Hand washing is particularly recommended for maintaining a technical trail running pack and preserving its elasticity and support.
Drying
- Let your pack air dry
- Avoid tumble dryers and direct heat sources
Flask maintenance (hygiene tip)
To prevent bacteria and odors:
- Clean your flasks thoroughly after use
- Let them dry completely
- You can then place them in the freezer once clean, a simple and effective method to limit bacterial growth
This tip is particularly useful for trail running pack flasks used in ultras, where hygiene is essential.
To choose the right size Wise trail vest, it's essential to base your decision on your chest circumference and body shape to ensure an optimal fit without bouncing.
Measure your chest circumference (at the pectoral level) then refer to the sizes:
T1: approximately 76–85 cm
T2: approximately 82–91 cm
T3: approximately 88–96 cm
T4: approximately 93–101 cm
T5: approximately 98–106 cm
T6: approximately 103 and above
A well-fitting trail vest should be:
- Close to the body without excessive compression
- stable, without bouncing during your run
- Comfortable even when loaded on long distances
How to choose between two sizes?
If you are hesitating between two trail vest sizes:
- V-shaped body (broad shoulders) → take the size up
- A-shaped body (slimmer torso) → take the size down
This will optimize the fit and prevent chafing during your runs.
Wise trail packs are designed to be compatible with the vast majority of quivers on the market, to make it easier to carry your poles during trail and ultra-trail running.
Thanks to their design, our trail packs allow for:
- Quick access to poles
- Stable attachment without bouncing
- Compatibility with the most commonly used systems in trail running
The Running Bag 331 has been completely redesigned to offer more comfort, performance, and ergonomics compared to the old Sherpa Race model.
Here are the main improvements:
- Raised flask pockets: easier and more natural hydration during runs
- More elastic structure: better fit to the body and increased comfort, even over long distances
- Clip under the front zip: allows the bag to be slightly opened on ascents to facilitate breathing
- Quiver attachment repositioned at the back: more stability and less discomfort during runs
- Secure tunnel pocket: top closure to prevent loss of equipment during effort
- Back flask pocket with elastic (no adhesive): more comfort and better durability
These developments make the Running Bag 331 a trail running vest that is:
- More comfortable
- More breathable
- More intuitive to use
and still bounce-free
In summary, the Running Bag 331 is an optimized and modernized version of the Sherpa Race vest, designed to improve every detail for both trail and ultra-trail running.
